A tasty, quick and easy Alternative to pizza
A sheet of ready made puff pastry and whatever toppings you fancy.
Just don’t go mad and overdo the toppings: pizza - even puff pastry pizza - is always better with a lighter touch on the toppings.
INGREDIENTS
One sheet of ready made puff pastry
Anything you like - for this one you’ll need...
1/4 tin of chopped tomatoes
2 mushrooms
1 ball of mozzarella
3 slices salami di Napoli
3 slices salami di Milano
oregano, black pepper

METHOD
Set the oven to 200ºC
Slice the tomatoes and the mozzarella
Roll out the pastry sheet - keeping it on the baking paper it comes in
Score right the way round - about 2 cm from the edge - careful not to cut through
Lightly coat the base in the chopped tomatoes - keeping inside the scored line
Roughly spread in layers the meat, then mushrooms, then mozzarella
Sprinkle with oregano and pepper
Pop in the oven for 10 - 15 minutes. I did this for 10, it wasn’t what I fancied, so I put the temperature up to 250ºC and did another 2 minutes. It very much depends on your preference, and the toppings.
